Terms
Using the app
These terms are between you and Quran Institute of Dallas (“we”), who runs this website and the iPhone app. By making an account, or making one for your child, you agree to them and to our privacy policy.
Accounts
You must be 18 or older to make an account for yourself. A student under 18 has an account made by their parent or guardian, who agrees to these terms for them, is responsible for how it’s used, and can change or delete it at any time.
Keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account.
Teachers are invited by the institute and follow its own rules for teaching.
Trying it out
Without a plan you can record 50 ayat and open the first 3 qaida lessons free. Recitations made while trying it out are kept on your account; no teacher hears them until you join the classes.
Classes
Classes with a teacher cost $50a student a month, charged in advance each month through Stripe. A parent’s plan covers each child on it. When you join, the recitations you kept while trying it out go to your teacher.
You can cancel at any time from Profile or Family. Cancelling stops the next charge, and the classes carry on until the end of the month already paid. We don’t refund part of a month. If a payment fails, the classes carry on for 7 days while it’s retried.
We may change the price. We’ll tell you at least 30 days before, and the new price starts with the next month after that.
Your voice, the whole Qur’an
Recording the whole Qur’an in your own voice is a single payment of $99. No teacher reviews these recordings. We keep them for as long as the account exists.
You can ask for a refund within 14 days of paying. A refund stops new recording; what’s already recorded stays.
Your recordings
Your recordings are yours. You let us store them, play them to the people you choose (your teacher, your parent, those you share them with) and process them to run the app, and nothing else. Deleting your account deletes them.
Teachers’ marks, grades and voice notes are there to help you learn. Please treat teachers, students and their families with respect, and don’t upload anything that isn’t your own recitation.
Ending your account
You can delete your account from Profile at any time, and a parent can delete a child’s. Deleting it cancels any plan on it and removes its recordings. We may close an account that breaks these terms, after telling you why where we can.
The fine print
We work to keep the app running and your recordings safe, but it’s provided as it is, without promises that it will always be available or free of mistakes. As far as the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect losses, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. We’ll tell you before any change that matters takes effect.
For questions about these terms or a payment, ask your teacher or Quran Institute of Dallas.
